Most home remedies do not work and there are professional machines that can polish the disc. It is better to replace the disc and not try to remove the scratches
If the disc has scratches that make it not work, try using a pencil eraser and rub from the center to the edge. It rubs off a small layer that rubs away the scratches. Hope this helps!
Most home remedies do not work, take it out to be polished and cleaned or replace the broken disc

Toothpaste and other home remedies do not work. The rental places use a disc cleaner that is actually a polisher. So does my local library and I have talked them into running it through for me. Sometimes it even works. I never asked a Gamestop what they would charge, but they must also have a machine.
it depends on how much toothpaste you put on it and how long you left it and the freezer or refrigerator
