Clear liqueurs don't really "expire". After (very) long storage times they can taste a little off, but a small sip shouldn't be too harmful, and if it tastes okay, it's almost certainly fine to drink.

I wouldn't necessarily trust anything cloudy or opaque (Bailey's Irish Cream), or with actual fruit chunks in it (liquor marketed as "moonshine" is sometimes sold this way), and I'd be wary of beers and low-ABV "malt beverages" like Mike's Hard Lemonade or "coolers". But anything sold as "schnapps" probably is okay, especially if the bottle is still sealed or at least closed tightly.

Note: "aging" in the liquor industry really only applies to the time it spends in (wooden) barrels; once sealed in a bottle, the aging/maturing process all but stops. Employees in liquor stores don't go around the shelves manually changing the "aged 5 years" labels with a Magic Marker; the time spent in the bottle doesn't count.

Wine is a special case. Traditional corked bottles do allow for some amount of aging in the bottle, and old wine can "go off" or become "corked", which means it starts tasting bad. But this shouldn't apply to schnapps, which is most likely in a glass bottle with a plastic-lined screw cap that is a pretty effective seal.
