There are a few different scenes in the game where there is laughing gas. In all of them, you must remain off the ground at all times - otherwise you'll die & have to start over at the nearest checkpoint. Travel throughout the room on the higher platforms/etc. From up there you will have to search the walls below you for these red switches - aim & throw a batarang at them one at a time & the air vents/circulation turns on & the room eventually clears of all gas.

Spoiler alert: Yes, Joker dies at the end of Arkham City.
Well, yes. The joker is dead, because he had suffered from a disease that was eating at his body, slowly killing him, in Arkham City. Plus, Arkham City had a NEW Joker voice actor, so it WAS the death of the joker, hypothetically.Yes. He was killed by Batman a long time ago... (Accidentally of course) But this doesn't mean he hasn't/won't come back...
Actually, Joker does not die at all. In Under the Red Hood, after Batman rescues Jason from the bomb going off, the Joker is then returned to Arkham Asylum. You may be thinking about the movie Batman:Return of the Joker, where Tim Drake shoots him.
batman doesn't die
No, Thalia does not die. She becomes immortal, and joins Artemis's Hunters. However, most think that Thalia died when she was turned to a tree, but this is not the case. She was only frozen in time.
Mark Hamill is still alive and doing voice acting and cameos. He's probably best known now as the voice of the Joker, which he performed for the final time for Batman: Arkham Asylum
