The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) is primarily funded through fees charged for its classification services. Film distributors, video publishers, and other content creators pay these fees when submitting their films or videos for classification. Additionally, the BBFC may receive funding from grants or sponsorship, but its main revenue comes from the classification process itself. This structure allows the BBFC to operate independently while maintaining its role in regulating film and video content in the UK.

Unlike the ratings from the ESRB in North America, which are only advisory, the BBFC ratings are enforceable by law, and UK retailers may face hefty fines if they sell to anyone under the age of 15. According to the BBFC the rating is because of the "strong violence" the game contains. It is for a PC but we can be sure it will be the same for both 360 and ps3.
