Yes, you can use a mouse and a keyboard as long as they are usb or bluetooth. For usb you can just plug and play, for bluetooth you'll have to pair them before you can use them.
If it is a USB port charger - plug it into the back of your Wii (which should have a USB slot) or plug it into any other USB port such as a laptop & games console!

The USB ports on the back of the Wii are for connecting accessories such as WiiSpeak or a keyboard.
Some keyboards work and some do not. My Micro Innovations wireless brand did not work but my Microsoft wireless keyboard works fine and makes letter writing a breeze! Just plug the USB connection of the keyboard to the USB port on the Wii to see if yours will work. Also, the F keys (F5, F6, F7 and F8) will trigger the emotions you have learned from the City Theater.
Yes, you can plug a keyboard into the iPad, but only if you buy the keyboard dock from apple. It charges your iPad, and when you are not using the iPad you ca just enjoy your photo collection while the iPad is charging.
No, you cannot use a USB for the Wii.
yep just plug it in from the usb port from the back.

You do not need wii speak for monster hunter tri. The offline (single player story line) mode does not use it at all. It can come in handy when playing online if you have other friends with wii speak so that you can coordinate your play, but it is not necessary. When online you can also communicate using a usb keyboard hooked into the back of your wii, or use the in-game (non-QWERTY) keyboard.
