Yes you can use a PS2 controller into a PC by buying a PS2 to USB connector. This is a connector that tricks the controller into thinking its a PS2.

They make a PS2-like controller for the PC. You just have to install the driver. I don't see why they wouldn't make an XBOX-type controller for the PC.

Of course you could, the jack on both Sony PS1 and Sony PS2 are exactly the same, although it lowers the performance than if you were playing with a Sony PS2 controller which means that you can not actually use the controller because who wants a controller that does not work completely. Used PS2 controllers are cheap and there are no good reasons to try and use a PS1 controller on your PS2 because it will not preform like a PS2 controller

Which are basically controllers that you can plug into your PC/Mac and use to play any game. Plus, the gamepads have a very similar design and feel to the PS2 controller.
