PS3s play only PS3 games unless they say they will play others. For example most say that they will play select PlayStation titles and most say they will not play PS2 games right on the box it was shipped in. PS1 used the CD format and PS2 did not use a CD and instead used a DVD format disc. The only PS3 that said they could play PS2 games were the old PS3 consoles with 4 USB ports
It is a blu ray disc and no it does not work in a PS2
No you are not able to play pirated PS2 CD's in a Sony PS3. There are some PS3's that are backwards compatible and can play PS2 games.
First you have to place atleast 4gb usb in usb console of ps2, then secondly you have to place the CD of ps3 in ps2 CD console,go to browser there you can see the words that ''disc reading''.wait for a while and you can see the words ''disc read error'' then hold the back buttons and type triangle, triangle, square, circle,x, wait for a few minutes and see, there's your game. False answer for someones amusement PS3 games will never play on a PS2. The PS2 does not even read a PS3 Blu Ray Disc and could not begin to have the technological capability to play a PS3 game any more than a twelve year old PC would meet the minimum requirements to play a new PC games
the answerOnly the Backward Compatible versions can and Sony shortly stopped production of those after they were released. From what i know the only ones that were backward compatible were the 60GB, 40GB and 20GB. None of the models released after 2007 were backwards compatible as Sony had removed this feature.
Of Course you can you just download the game and burn it on to a writable CD; however, you Will need a modification (also know as a chip u can burn the orginals and always have the original) chip in your PS2 to make it work.
What you really are asking is whether the PS2 game CD will work in the PS3. The only PS3 models that play PS2 games are those with 4 USB ports, Newer PS3 models with only 2 USB ports will not play PS2 games.

The DVD for PS2 and the CD for a Computer game or a DVD for a computer game are the same size and so is the PS3 Blue Ray Discs.
No the PS2 can not play a PS3 game they are only the same size they are as different as a CD and DVD and that is just the disc. The PS2 can not run the PS3 games programs and lacks the hardware to do what the programs are telling it to do

You trade in a game for credit toward a purchase not as an exchange THEY DO NOT GIVE YOU MORE THAN THE GAME IS WORTH. So no a PS2 game would get you a dollar or two off a PS3 game. PS3 games are never on a CD they use Blu Ray Discs and they are CD or DVD size
PS is CD, PS2 is DVD, and PS3 is Blu RayI'm pretty sure it is a CD-R
I'm not sure a PS3 game will even fit on a CD. The PS3 will play Cds and DVDs but the games are on Blu-Ray Discs
Only if you have the original ps3, the silms dont
Catwoman is an old game for the PC PS2 GameCube and Xbox The PS2 and Xbox game was released on July 21, 2004
