Remember the Imperial Table of Weights.

16 oz (ounnces) = 1 lb (pound)

14 lbs = 1 stone

2 stones = 1 quart (28 lbs)

4 quarts = 1 cwt (hundredweight) ( 112 lbs)

20 cwt = 1 ton ( 2240 lbs)

The same number of ounces as if you are not cooking. One pound is 16 ounces. If you mean a pound as in a pound of weight on your body, that is not measured the same way. It is measured in calories. I do not remember the number of calories in one pound of body weight. I'm sure it out on the internet somewhere.
