Answer #1
In the original 1900 book edition of 'The Wizard of Oz', Dorothy Gale didn't indicate a preference in taking leave of the Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow, and the Tin Woodman. But she did have a preference in the beloved 1939 film version. At the end of her Oz dreamland sequence, she pinpointed the Scarecrow as the one that she well might miss the most of her three dream pals.

You're exactly right. I just watched 'The Wizard of Oz', and she said that she would miss the Scarecrow the most, seeing as how she had known him the longest and that she had been through the most stuff with him. That's kind of sweet.

Miss Ross, is by some quirk of fate, the sole Survivor of the cast of the Wiz. Mr. Jackson, Mr. Russell, other supporting characters, Lena Horne, and Richard Pryor- the title character have all died.

She also likes her pet dog Toto, who always gives her a reason to have fun and laugh despite the hard life of a farm family on the Kansas prairies. Additionally, she likes her three traveling companions in Oz although there seems to be a marked preference for the Scarecrow. For example, in the film Dorothy says that she will miss him the most of the three, and in the book she hugs him. Dorothy also seems to find Glinda the Good likable, particularly in the book where she compliments her.
