Because many celebrities (especially women) do a lot like throwing up or not eating to stay too skinny and that is what our society has decided is pretty. it is constantly driven into our heads that you must be a skinny twig (or in the male case muscular and have a 6 pack) to be attractive and it leads to a lot of people (again, especially women who have it the worst) having anorexia and Bulimia. also Celebrities are just bad role models, many aren't exactly good people and don't live good lives. (just look at Charlie sheen)

How might the media influence a persons idea of an ideal body?

The media often promotes specific body types as ideal through advertising, fashion, and entertainment, which can shape societal standards of beauty. Images of slim, toned figures are frequently idealized, leading individuals to compare themselves against these unrealistic benchmarks. This constant exposure can create body image issues, influencing people to pursue unhealthy behaviors in an effort to conform. Additionally, social media amplifies these ideals, making them more pervasive and impactful on personal self-esteem and body perception.

Why are rappers bad role models?

This answer is quite simple: Athletes aren't always who they seem to be on TV. On TV, they always look like smiling, happy people who just love to help out people in need and give hugs to little children. In reality, these people are just actors who happen to be good at playing sports. Sure, some athletes really are who they seem on TV, but many of them are cruel and heartless folks out there looking to make some cash. They could be on drugs or using alcohol or many other horrible things that real role models should not be doing. These people would be better role models if they actually lived up to their identity on the television screen.
