Why is naruto last name is uzomaki while his dads last name is kamikazy?

Minato Namikaze (Fourth Hokage) was a great hero of the Third Great Ninja War. He assassinated many Iwagakure shinobi, and therefore had many enemies. That is why Naruto's surnname is his mother's rather than his father's; if Iwa knew that he was the Fourth's son, they would probably try and kiddnap him.

But probably they (third hokage etc.) want to keep Naruto's identity secret that why they give him his Mothers name who was less popular than his father who was very famous and feared amongst his enemies

He was Konoha's Yellow Flash after all

Another reason would be because that Uzumaki was the clan and Kishimoto called the three of them the UZUMAKI family, NOT the NAMIKAZE....... in other words, Minoto joined the Uzumaki's, Kushina DIDN'T join the Namikaze....... Namikaze wasn't a clan, it never once stated that Namikaze was a clan, as such, Naruto is Uzumaki Naruto, NOT Namikaze

Because he didn't want Naruto to find out about his father, so he got his mothers last name Uzimaki. (Naruto NamiKaze or Naruto Uzumaki)

In japanese culture a clan simply means family. as in the uchiha family. or the uzumaki family or the senju family etc etc. so since Minato had to have had parents there was indeed a Namikaze

Since naruto has the demon fox inside him, he needed protection. His mothers last name was Uzumaki so he was named after her. (whoever is a member and reads this please copy this and change the answer for the "Why does naruto have a different last name than his father?" question. I can't change the answer for that question because I'm not a member.)

because everyone knew that his father hid the demon in his son. to save naruto from the people. he made naruto an orphan with a different surname to hide his identity.
