Igor Gouzenko was a cipher clerk for the soviet embassy to Canada. He liked living in Canada and did not want to go home, so on September 5, 1945 he stole 109 docum, ents on the soviet espionage. He could provew that there was in fact, an active Russian spy ring in Canada. For over 10 years after that he lived with a 'bag-like' thing on his head. The soviets wanted to find him and kill him. So he and his family were secretly re-located and changed identities.
