Why is it that twilight fans claim there are vampires in the book when the characters in question do not suck blood or die in sunlight or turn in to bats?
Twilight is fiction. Vampires, like unicorns, don't really exist. You can write anything you want about them, and it's as true as anything anyone else writes.... In Twilight, Stephanie Meyer just changed the whole vampire thing up a bit. And actually they do suck blood in the book, just animal blood and in the sunlight instead of dying, they sparkle. But Stephanie Meyer does not associate bats with vampires in any way.

I'm not sure what you mean by that, but here it is for the two main protagonists in the novel.Bella- Bella is the shy girl around town who hates spotlight and going out late. She is very open-minded, and hates to think of herself as beautiful, even when everyone else in Forks can see it.Edward- Edward grew up in the olden days, so he thinks of everything as proper. If you read the rough draft of Stephanie Meyer's twilight in Edward's view called midnight sun, Edward is also a little jealous. In the upcoming book, you learn Edward is VERY protective. He is very cautious and will eventually in the next books do ANYTHING to save Bella.
