it is nothing wrong with the car. The Japanese use different accelerator gauges than the Americans do (Toyota fiasco) with the Mazda the R9 accelerator gauge is very touchy. If you floor it, the pedal will miss the top speed marker. If you let up, i9t will go back close to the sensor. I know this because my friend had the same problem with his mx3 and when we took it to break cheak, they said it was normal on the Mazda and nothing was wrong with it, 50 bucks for nothing.
