I don't think that Ralph deliberately lies. I think that Ralph is so traumatised by what he experienced that he finds it difficult to come to terms with it. Ralph does actually say to Piggy things such as you didn't see what they did and it was murder, so he isn't denying what happened, he just doesn't want to relive the experience by discussing it with Samneric and apparently they feel the same way.

Ralph agreed to go with Jack because he was showing Jack he wasn't scared to kill the beast. Jack taunted Ralph and so Jack didn't feel like he had won he agreed to go with ease.

Ask them whats been going on. Tell them how you feel and that you're thinking about breaking up. If things get worse, just break it off don't let them lead you on anymore.
Cold things usally make it feel 100000 times worse in my experiance. And stay away from alcohol! it brings down your immunesystem and makes it worse. Stick to hot drinks like hot water with a slice of ginger and some honey. ps. milk will make your throat feel clogged up and sticky.
