But later after the Games she's taken by surprise, and Peeta tells her that the 'love game' was fake only got the cameras which leavs Katniss is despair

Peeta got hurt before the Hunger Games in the book. After the interview Katniss got mad and did something to Peeta's hand + them being bandaged.
Effie Trinket is the escort to the District 12 tributes. In other words, she brings the tributes to the Capitol and helps them get used to Capitol life, she assists with Katniss' personality and manners in the interview.
In The Hunger Games, Katniss learns that her sister will have to compete in the annual Hunger Games, so she takes her sister's place. In Catching Fire, Katniss learns that she will be going back into the arena. As the story progresses, there are many other instances where shocking news is delivered to the main protagonists.
In the first novel, Katniss is nicknamed "The girl on fire", relating to her chariot costume and interview dress. In the final book, Mockingjay, she is represented as the Mockingjay, for various reasons found in the second and third book.
