Why does Draco Malfoy hate Hermione Granger?

The reason why Snape hate Harry Potter is probably because when Snape went to school with Harry's dad he was a jerk to him. Watch Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. When Harry goes into Snape's office Harry goes into Snape's memories and sees his dad hurting Snape.

Another reason is because of Sirius Black (personally my favorite character). According to Snape's memories, Snape was rather shy and kept to himself, which made him a target to Sirius Black and James Potter,whom Professor McGonagall states were always playing practical jokes on people. Sirius knew Snape wanted them caught in the act of becoming animagi (people that can turn into animals willingly, which very few people were and these particular animagi were unknown to most), and also knew that if he followed Black, Lupin, Potter, and Pettigrew he would get beat up by the Whomping Willow (a very violent tree), which guarded the group from being seen. Black let themselves be seen when Snape was there, and let him watch as they went to the spot, all the while Snape assumed he was being sneaky. There was a certain knothole that needed to be pressed (on the opposite side of the tree) which could only be accessed by Pettigrew, who could turn into a rat. Snape ,however, missed this and was walking the Willow when James Potter (Harry's Father) saved his life as he narrowly missed walking a tad further and being killed by the Whomping Willow.

For this reason, Snape was displeased as he hated James, and felt very in dept. Snape insults Harry endlessly, stating that his father was a fool, when indeed he hated James for saving his life.

Another reason is that Snape described Harry as "arrogant" and "a fool, just like his father" as mentioned above. This brings us to the numerous tricks James Potter played on Snape, which, as you know, Snape greatly resents.

Also because when Snape was young he fell in love with Lily. James stole her away.

Draco's family, the Malfoys, are purebloods. They hate muggle-borns, or mudbloods as they would say. Hermione Granger is muggle-born as well as friends with Harry Potter, Malfoy's rival. She's also incredibly clever and stubborn, and frequently lashes out at Malfoy, even going as far as punching him in the face in their third year.

First, his dad hates Harry because he's a death eater and Voldemort hates and want to kill Harry. Also, in the movie all though this did not happen in the books, Malfoy asked Harry to be his friend and Harry refused because Malfoy made fun of Ron.

ACTUALLY in the socerers stone Draco met harry in madam milkans(robe shop) and he was kind of snobby but he was being friendly.. then at the school Draco told harry that he could help harry make friends of the right sort.

He hates harry because harry has all the attention. I would even assume Lucius spent more time plotting ways to capture harry for voldemort then actually spending time with his son and i think Draco resents harry for that. I don't think Draco HATES harry i think hes just jealous and resentful.

if he truly hated harry, he would have ratted the trio out when they were captured and brought to malfoy manor.

I think Draco hates Ron though. there is a lot of animosity between them.

Draco doesn't hate Hermione either, he was just always taught that mudbloods were worth less then the dirt on his boots and he belived that. but as he got older i think he realized how wrong his father was.

BecausE when voldermort killed his parents he couldn't kill harry because harry mum loved him to much some of voldermorts powers went to harry. so voldermort hates harry because he couldn't defeat harry also harry was knoen as the boy who lives!

Voldemort didn't hate Harry at first, he was scared of him. A prophecy said that a child born at the end of July to parents who had thrice defied Voldemort would have the power to vanquish him.

Both Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom fitted this, had Voldemort heard the rest of the prophecy he would know that he didn't have to fulfil the prophecy because Voldemort would 'mark him as his equal'.

Voldemort just wanted rid of Harry because Harry could stop him. He started to hate Harry after he kept escaping from him.

Their dislike of each other starts when Draco insults the Weasleys on the Hogwarts Express just after Ron and Harry have met at the start of their first year and Harry then refuses Draco's offer of friendship.
