Ralph doesn't actually ever give up being chief but after the meeting in chapter 5: Beast from Water breaks up and he fears that the boys would ignore him if he blows the conch Ralph considers the possibility. He says, and I quote, "I ought to give up being chief. Hear 'em." Piggy is totally dismayed and gripping ralph's arm tells him that, "If Jack was chief he'd have all hunting and no fire. we'd be here till we died." Simon reinforced Piggys remarks by saying "Piggy's right, Ralph. there's you and Jack. Go on being chief."
Piggy is an outsider and doesn't fit it. He is fat, he is the only boy who wears glasses, he has Asthma and talks like an adult.
Ralph and Piggy use a conch shell to call the boys together.
It isn't hard for the boys to hear Piggy, the truth is that they just don't want to listen to him. The fire is exciting and Piggy isn't, he whines a lot about things that most of the other boys find totally boring. Piggy is considered to be an outsider, he doesn't fit in and the majority of the boys consider him a joke and unworthy of respect, so they just don't listen to him. Jack in particular dislikes Piggy and his usual response to anything that Piggy says is, "shut up!"
Piggy died when the boys rolled the rock. He fell off the cliff and the rock smashed him into pieces. Poor piggy. Pork, anyone?

The boys initially ostracize Piggy for his physical weakness, intelligence, and unpopularity. They mock him and ignore his suggestions, seeing him as an outsider. As the novel progresses, some boys start to appreciate Piggy's wisdom and logical thinking, while others continue to disregard him. Ultimately, Piggy's fate highlights the savagery and cruelty that the boys are capable of.

Simon volunteers to go back with the message to Piggy and the littluns that the boys will be home after dark.
The other boys in "Lord of the Flies" view Piggy as an outcast and a target for their bullying. They see him as weak, annoying, and a hindrance to their desire for power and control on the island. Despite Piggy's intelligence and good intentions, the boys' disdain for him ultimately leads to tragic consequences.
In Lord of the Flies, Piggy and Simon are tragically killed. Simon is stabbed to death by the boys and Piggy is sadly hit by a massive rock:(
Piggy is annoyed because he sees the boys' behavior as reckless and irresponsible. He believes they should have taken a more cautious approach, considering the potential dangers of running up the mountain, especially with the fire out of control. Piggy values logical thinking and is frustrated by what he perceives as the boys' lack of rationality.
