Since his father saw Haku use magic, his father was forced to kill him but it turned out that his parents and the other people were killed. During winter, he had nothing to do anymore, thinking that he is no more use of serving mankind. Zabuza found Haku and adopted him. Haku thinks that his only thing to do left is to serve Zabuza.Naruto thought Haku was a girl because HE acted like one
