When Itachi said to Sasuke to kill his closest friend, he meant that when a member of their clan does that, their sharingan develops in a special way, therefore giving them more power.

Itachi did not lie to Sasuke when he informed him that your friend has to die for you to get Mongekyo Sharingan, but you do not have to kill your friend. All your friend has to do is die, or a carrier of Mongekyo can give it to someone. That is how Sasuke got his new power, from Itachi giving it to him.

No even though he is supposed to kill his best friend (naruto) to obtain the power to kill Itachi. His whole life was dedicated to killing Itachi and Naruto ended up meaning more than that. Sasuke DOES kill Itachi though, without killing Naruto

Why does Sasuke want to kill Naruto after killing orochimaru?
Sasuke wants to kill Naruto after killing Orochimaru, because he believed that killing his best friend/closest one/dearest to him (which was Itachi, his older brother's directions), will complete the transformation of his Mangekyou Sharingan. He will end up using it to claim more power, kill Itachi, and to cut off his bonds with Naruto. This opinion came to him long ago, after the assassination of his clan.
Why does sauske want to kill naruto?
Because after Itachi finished killing the entire uchiha clan (except for mardara and sasuke uchiha) he tells him to kill his closest friend like he did and after so he must come to meet with him with the same sharingan he has, mangekyo sharingan. In order for sasuke to possess magekyo sharingan, itachi believed he must kill his closest friend as he did to ShiSui Uchiha and then he will be able to see him.] Sasuke grew up with a hatred for his brother and that hatred made him stronger. What is Sasukes goal?
To kill his brother, and reserect his clan. According to him he is willing to do it even if he has to be consumed by hatred. I'm not sure what his goal is in the Shippuuden series. Cause Even after he kills itachi he finds out what really happened. And apparently desides to attack the leaf village.
