Samneric get "taken" under Jack's command. Jack says, "Grab them!". Then Jack forces Samneric to joing the tribe. Later Jack uses Samneric, to figure out where Ralph was hiding so they could "do him".

because he seems so inviting and daring. similar to how the devil is sometimes tempting for us. he seems to be the "cool" guy and like he knows everything. Also, it seems like more fun to go with him then to go with the people who want to do the right thing.

Sam and Eric changed sides because they felt that they had nowhere else to turn except to Jack's group. Ralph would have gotten them killed, so the only other alternative was to change sides.
