Naruto as his best friend and Mitsuki(that brown-headed girl from the sand who seems to always be near Temari during the Kazekage Retrieval Saga and who looks kinda like Sakura.)as his girlfriend.

Even Naruto in his rampage mode wouldn't do anything to him. Kimimaro could've destroyed Naruto while he was sick and in normal form, while Gaara fended him even in his 2nd Stage. In the begginning of Shippuden, Gaara again was much stronger than him. Naruto wasn't all that tough back then, seriously. But now (I'm talking about the MANGA, sorry anime-fans for the lil spoiler), it is unconfirmed, as both of them isn't showing their all, but I will say they're ridiculously strong. Why did Yashamaru attack Gaara?
The truth is he hated Gaara because Gaara's sealing process with the Shukaku made Yashamaru's older sister Karura die. When Gaara's own father (Fourth Kazekage) asked Yashamaru to kill Gaara, Yashamaru accepted to avenge his sister. His assasination failed, and costed him his life. (Yashamaru used paper bombs wrapped around his body and Gaara survived using his sand.) Yashamaru told Gaara right before his death to please die. Because of this experience, Gaara became more of an emotional wreck and would kill anyone to prove his existence. He got over this after Naruto defeated him since Naruto had experienced the very same pain Gaara experienced through life.

this is an opinion based question, and i am usually against that, but since this question is asking for an opinion i will give one.....i think that the best suited person to be gaara's best friend is naruto because they have so much in common and understand each other's emotions well, like having a junchuriki, and having everyone rejecting them at one point,etc.For the girlfriend part, i don't think anyone would fit him emotionally on a deeprer level than just looks, but if you want to base it on looks, i think that gaara looks to good for any of the girls in NARUTO, so no one is my thought ;)

Naruto cannot defeat all 6 pein, but 4 of them. and since Gaara is just as strong as Naruto, i think Pein will win, but it would be a really good match (i mean like a match where the whole village would be destroyed)
