A very high end store which specialized in selling porcelain during the approximate period 1880 until 1930 in Philadelphia. It sold Minton historical scene plates as well as many other Minton, Limoges and comparable quality makers of porcelain. Later, similar stores were Caldwells and Bailey Banks. Its predecessor store had Tyndale in the name.

An example of china made by Mayer China for Wright, Tyndale and Van Roden in Philadelphia. Breyers is a brand of ice cream, still being made today. If Wright, Tyndale and VanRoden ceased to exist around 1930, this plate would have been made before or at the latest in 1930. The connection between the department store and breyers Ice cream is unknown by this writer. The plate is just under 7" in diameter and weighs about 1 lb. 1 oz.
