I think it might be Crimson Glory. They formed in 1979, changed their name twice before settling on Crimson Glory. Not sure when they started wearing the masks but their self-titled debut album was released in 1986, 2 years before Gwar's 'Hell-O' in 1988, and they were wearing them then.
