There were numerous singers at the Sydney Olympics in 2000. The young girl who sang during the early part of the opening ceremony was 13-year-old Nikki Webster. Other musical performers who performed during the opening ceremony were Olivia Newton-John and John Farnham, who sang the duet "Dare to Dream" while they walked among the athletes. Vanessa Amorosi sang "Heroes" when a huge cloth with sporting images and a white dove of peace dropped to cover the athletes. Tina Arena sang "The Flame".
