I'm a Deep Purple freak, and nobody I know of from Purple was ever in the Sweet (and I know of everyone who was even a session musician, or a touring player, with Purple)... however, Ritchie Blackmore the guitarist did get up and jam with the Sweet once. The guy was odd though, he also wanted to work with ABBA and now plays mediaeval folk.
