Remus Lupin taught Defence Against the Dark Arts in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. He was one of the four marauders, and friends with James Potter, Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew.
Remus was a werewolf and lived most of his life being hated by society. It was rare for him to make friends, and rarer for him to have a job. In the last book, he was married to Nymphadora Tonks and they had a son together.
Remus, along with his wife, died during the final battle. He was the last marauder to die.
