She is the middle child of three to parents Gay and Randy Moore. An alumna of Mahomet-Seymour High School in Mahomet, Illinois, she first pursued her passion for acting while involved in spring musicals and various plays with her high school's drama club. She attended the University of Missouri and was a member of Pi Beta Phi fraternity. She is probably most well known for her work in commercials. Paxson was selected from more than 500 actresses to play 'the Voice of Reason' in theGladware commercials. She currently can be seen in commercials for DayQuil and Yoplait Light. Melanie also starred in the 2000 feature film Ready to Rumble with David Arquette, Scott Caan, and Oliver Platt.
