It's a long story but here goes, in the episode 'Krusty Gets Busted' (season 1, episode 12), Sideshow Bob frames Krusty for robbery. Bart and Lisa think this isn't right and go and investigate. Bart and Lisa present their evidence and Sideshow Bob gets sent to jail. Bart did most of the work so when Bob was freed from jail, he wanted to kill Bart Simpson because Bart locked him away. Bart didn't believe Krusty committed the crime, and set out to prove it, and in doing so discovered it was Sideshow Bob who did it. First of all, sideshow bob framed Krusty because Bob hated Krusty for when he gave Bob the receiving end of Krusty's humiliating gags. So if he framed Krusty and Krusty went to jail, he could become the new host and do to the show, what he wanted to do. But then Bart realizes that Bob framed Krusty and Bob is sent to jail swearing revenge on Bart Simpson (see season 1, episode 12 "Krusty gets busted").
