actually tobi is obito once tobi, kakashi and rin were gone on a mission and obito uchiha first time activated his sharingan he was crushed by a boulder and his half body was destroyed then madara uchiha(very old) came and recreate his destroyed body by the jutsu of hashimara(first hokage) as a clone body and asked him to complete his eye moon plan because he was very old.
Now that Madara Uchiha has been resurrected, the question of the identity of Tobi has risen once again. The first logical candidate is Obito Uchiha, a member of Kakashi's former team. However, it is explained that boulders killed him during the Third Ninja war. As the source of Kakashi's left eye, Obito would probably not be the man behind the mask of Tobi as he never had any connection to wanting to destroy the ninja world. Some believe that Orochimaru originally discovered that Tobi was Obito because he was a body in which he could transfer Madaras mind into. Since Madara was old and possibly weak from his battle with the first Hokage, this might make sense. However, a body transferring jutsu needs a LIVE body, something that Obito is not. In addition, Obito was given a "sense of closure" in his role in the story as he explained that he had wished to spend more time with Kakashi and Rin. A second candidate is Izuna Uchiha. He was the brother of Madara Uchiha and the only member of the Uchiha clan who could match him. I do not believe it to be him as it is explained that Madara took his eyes and was eventually killed by this. Itachi did believe that Madara stole his eyes but this is besides the point. Izuna is somewhat of a minor character and is used for background of Madara. I do not think the creator would bring him back as the new "Madara." Another candidate is the sage of the six paths. After all, he is the original owner of the Rinnegan and would fit Tobi's conversation that he wanted to "claim what was rightfully his" from Nagato. However, it is explained after separating the tailed beasts that he was going to die. As Tobi tells it, the sage decided that the youngest brother was more fit to take his place rather than the younger brother. I think this adds to the reason why it wouldn't be the sage as he shouldn't be alive after he announced his successor. Probably the most obvious reason why it would not be him is that he would be extremely old.
I believe the most likely is a second Madara Uchiha. One of the main clues is Kisame. He is one of the only people who has seen Tobi without his mask. At both times, he explains that it is indeed Madara. Despite his body being resurrected by Kabuto, there is still a large connection between the two. After all, there are only a few who own the Sharingan. Madara is a logical candidate as the controller for the Rinnegan. He is a very intelligent individual and knows vast information about the Ninja World. He is the mastermind behind the Nine-Tails attack on the Leaf Village and had many reasons why he wished to do so. This all relates to Madara (and his intentions). Although I can not explain the reason how there would be two Madaras, we are left with some clues from the revived Madara. It is explained that he knows Nagato, something that he shouldn't know unless he was alive just a short time ago. It is inferred that he believed that he was resurrected by Nagato's Heavenly Life Technique. This means that there must be a connection between Tobi and this new Madara. Finally, Tobi explains that his goal is to "have a complete body." Although this means that the other part he wants to add is the Ten-Tailed Beast, the author might be including an alter meaning that there are two of him.
With that, I leave you with your predictions. We will just have to wait and see.

For those who are avid readers of the Naruto series, I am here to contribute my take on the persistent mystery of Tobi. As a reference, the Naruto manga has completed five hundred and sixty eight chapters thus far. From what I have seen on the internet and YouTube videos, there are several candidates to who Tobi may be. The first contender is Obito Uchiha. We first learn of him when we delve into Kakashi's past during the Third Shinobi War. As a member of Minato Namikaze's squad, Obito and his teammates mission was to destroy the Kannabi Bridge. However, Rin was captured by two Iwagakure Jonin, causing Obito and Kakashi to try and rescue her. Although they did succeed in her rescue, Obito was crushed by boulders. As a late birthday present, Obito gave his left Sharingan eye to Kakashi, signaling their new friendship. Many believe that Obito is a logical choice as Tobi. Some think that the only reason why Kakashi still plays a prominent role in the story is because of the "reunion" between the two teammates. I think otherwise. When Obito was killed by remaining boulders, the author, Masashi Kishimoto, gave the scene a "sense of closure," explaining that he was happy to have repaired his relationship with Kakashi and that he only wished he had more time with his teammates. Furthermore, Obito didn't have any reason to want to destroy Konoha or create an elaborate idea like the Moon Eye Plan. Obito is portrayed as an innocent ninja who epitomized several traits of Naruto. According to Narutowiki, Obito was a shade under five feet whereas Tobi is around five foot eight. Nevertheless, I do find Tobi to look a lot like Obito and can see why many find him to be a logical fit.
The second candidate I wish to introduce is Madara Uchiha. Although it is explained in chapter 559 that he is the man from the "sixth coffin," I still think that he might have a small role of who Tobi is. During Tobi's discussion with Naruto, Kakashi and Yamato in the Land of Iron, his goal is "to regain and have a complete body." This can be translated and construed in many different ways. One is that there might have been two Madaras; something that may be cogent due to our lack of knowledge to what actually happened to Madara during his battle with the First Hokage, Hashirama. A second Madara would verify Kisame's encounter with Tobi. In that particular scene (Shippuden Episode 142), Kisame confirms that the man behind the mask is indeed Madara Uchiha. Still, Madara was shown to have been brought back from the dead via Kabuto. In addition, this "new" Madara that has risen from the dead knows Nagato, which implies that he has been alive recently. He also knows Tobi. Therefore, it could be logical that there are two Madaras. Even though this is "logical", it still doesn't explain how there could be two. In chapter 564, Tobi contradicts this theory, explaining that he is not Madara Uchiha and that he only used the name to start the war. He portrays a man who has lost hope for the world and on many occasions, explained that it does not exist. In all, Madara is still a candidate for the man behind the mask but there are many factors to how it could be him. We still need more information and insight for this theory to become reality.
My next candidate that might be Tobi is Izuna Uchiha. Although a valid applicant, I do not believe him to be a frontrunner in this debate. From the story we have learned from Tobi (Shippuden Episodes 139-141), Izuna willingly gave up his eyes for his brother. With this, Madara gained his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. However, Madara had told Sasuke that he was not responsible for the Nine-Tails attack on Konoha before the series had begun. We learn later that this is a lie. Therefore, Tobi is not necessarily a credible source and we cannot assume that Izuna died on his own accord. Nonetheless, Izuna didn't have a reason to create the Fourth Shinobi War or want to complete the Moon Eye Plan. We also saw a flashback of Izuna's corpse in a coffin. From this analysis, we know that he is deceased (presumed) and didn't have any motives to attacking the Leaf. With this, Izuna is probably one of the most least likely characters to have a grudge against the Leaf, the rest of the Shinobi World or create a fictitious story of being his brother, Madara. I do not believe Kishimoto to make Izuna the man behind the mask since we hardly have any information on him and that his fate is a big mystery.
The fourth candidate is the Sage of the Six Paths. As a preacher of peace and the inventor of ninshu (later known as ninjutsu), he hardly seems to be a man who wants revenge. Still, he possessed the Rinnegan; therefore making him compatible with the Sharingan. Next, we look at his age. According to the myths and legends that are elucidated from Jiraya, Tobi and the Kages, he would be extremely old and was explained to have passed away hundreds of years ago. But then we learn in Chapter 545 that Madara is practically immortal as he has been able to extend his life with the First Hokage's cells. In addition, the Sage of the Six Paths would fit Tobi's wish "to become complete" as he has explained that he is simply a "shell" of what he used to be. This is because the Sage was the original Ten-Tailed Host and he might be collecting the beasts to regain his power. Lastly, Tobi has explained that he is "nobody" and that he simply wanted to achieve his Moon Eye Plan. As I explained before, he appears to have lost hope in everything but still thinks that he can attain peace. This would fit with the Sage's ideals but does not fit in with the legend and the Six Path's personality of being a "savior." Right now, I find the Sage's chances of being Tobi to be increasing as Tobi's personality is starting to give us hints that link to the Sage.
In conclusion, there are still many elements that are yet to be discovered that will eventually reveal the man behind the mask. From the top of my head, I do not remember a time in which Tobi has revealed his Mangekyo Sharingan or his Eternal Sharingan to us. We haven't really discovered any of his eye techniques and his principal jutsu is the Space-Time migrations. He does not appear to be much of a fighter and we haven't seen a wide range of ninjutsu that come from him. His face (from what we saw with the Konan battle appears to be Obito), his motives are "all over the place," his eyes are like the Sage of the Six Paths and he seems to have a vast knowledge of previous events and people. For me, it is too hard to guess who Tobi might be at this stage. I try to think with a rational mind and try not to "jump to conclusions." With this, I leave you to your predictions. We will just have to wait and see. Pce.
P.S. I could not submit this to the original question (Who is Tobi?). I was the original author but could only go to discussion page. This is why I created a new, similar question.
Notice Kisame did saw Tobi without mask, but Kisame newer saw real Madara, so the answer is that we will know who Tobi is on August 30 2012, because Naruto has broken Tobi's mask in chapter 598 of Naruto manga so wait until chapter 599, and I beleave in next twelve moths plus minus we will see everything what we are interested Ten tails and Rikudo will apear , Kakashi will take off his mask, Sasuke will get good and marry Sakura and revive Uchiha clan, Naruto will marry Hinata and become Hokage, so patient my narutofans...
use common sense people , tobi uchiha can not be madara because madara is reincarnated by the summoning: impure world reincarnation and tobi can not be obito because obito would not do those bad things and minato was fighting who claims to be tobi uchiha he looked older than minato and taller so he can not be tobi uchiha for kakashi and tobi uchiha the one with kakashi could not know kisame because he was living in the konoha . people get your facts straight before you talk.
The end
Tobi identity is still a mystery and all we know is that he is part of the Uchiha clan. He was previously thought to be and claimed to be the powerful Madara Uchiha but that was disproved when the real Madara was brought back from the dead, meaning Tobi could not be Madara. And in Manga Chapter 599 , it is revealed that Tobi is Obito Uchiha------a team mate of Kakashi Hayate who everyone thought was dead.
Tobi , from Naruto , is voiced by Joshua Seth .
Madara's debut appearance as Tobi is Naruto Shippuden Episode 32: Return of the Kazekage.
I'm not sure of when Naruto fights Tobi alone, but there is an episode in Shippuden in which he fights Tobi with a group of six or so shinobi whilst on a quest for Sasuke. This episode is number 134, called "Banquet Invitation".
I would say definitly no because Tobi is invincible not even naruto can beat him he is also immortal that he is madara uchiha he may not look it but madara cut his hair and used transformation jutsu he is too strong and the last time naruto messed with Tobi naruto got a face full of tree.
Yes it is true that Obito Uchiha is tobi as shown in Manga Chapter 599
