Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky is highly regarded as quite possibly the most famous Russian composer of all time. He composed the extremely popular "Swan Lake", "Nutcracker" and "Sleeping Beauty" compositions which are still heavily used and remembered well to this day. Tchaikovsky was 53 when he passed in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

FranEverybody has it's own opinion about 'famous': There are a lot of Russian Composers which deserve this title. Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov or Rachmaninoff. I prefer Tchaikovsky, so for me personal I give him my vote.
