Chrisopher Guest is a comedian, writer and director who is famous for his Improvised, Mockumentary Comedy films that usually use the same actors and actresses such as Bob Balaban, Fred Willard, Parker Posy, Michael Mckean, Harry Shearer, Eugene Levy, Chatherine O'Hara, Himself and indeed many more. Perhaps the most famous example of Christopher Guest's work is critically acclaimed comedy 'This is Spinal Tap'; a mockumentary following a rock group on their tour in an attempt to reclaim their glory years. The film is often regarded as the funniest film of all time due to the fact the entire film was improvised and yet so many dead-pan, straight faced, humour filled lines are said constantly, exposing the group as a bunch of idiots who are ignorant of their own stupidity and their declining fame and worth. It was in fact Christopher Guest's films such as 'This is Spinal Tap', 'Best in Show', 'A Mighty Wind', 'Waiting For Guffman' and most recently 'For Your Consideration' that inspired Ricky Gervais to write the also universally praised UK sitcom 'The Office'. All of Christopher Guest's films are improvised and realistically shot, all of the humour coming from lines of comedy gold that are said in such a casual way, if you do not pay close attention, you pass the lines off as average dialogue. An example would be from Spinal Tap in which the group have just talked to a far more famous Rock Star which they are clearly jealous of. One of the group (David) says 'I hate him. Remember the tour we did when he opened for us? They were still booing him when we were on'.
