detective L had died in the anime, as well as kira a.k.a light yagami, light yagamis father, and it was rumored that in the last episode misa amone commited suicide by jumping off a building those are just the main people that had died

Awww Come on guys, think about it! YES he is alive *wewt cheers highfive*. Think back to when he Charles became immortal. The contract he had to fill With C2 was to kill her. The "code" or immortality could only be passed on after their geass was powerfull enough to take it (when both eyes had geass in them). Obviously he finally fulfilled the contract and took her immortality. Notice how you don't see his or her for heads for a few episodes before the end. Its easier to understand after you read C2's final statement translated a few different ways. Although I do appreciate the fact that they left it open ended for you tho realize that... or ask wiki answers to realize it for you! hahaha I am so glad he lived!
