The lead singer of Steely Dan is Donald Fagen. The exceptions are in the songs "Dirty Work" and "Brooklyn (Owes The Charmer Under Me)," which are sung by David Palmer, "Midnite Cruiser," sung by Jim Hodder, and "East St. Louis Toodle-oo," which is an instrumental and "Slang of Ages," which is sung by Walter Becker on their 2003 release "Everything Must Go." Becker also sings on "Book of Liars".

The ORIGINAL lead singer of Steely Dan was David Palmer. But due to his obvious incompatibility, he was eventually let go. Donald Fagen then reluctantly became lead singer of Steely Dan in 1973.
