The movie only adapts the last 100 out of 700 pages of the book. And Lee, one of the major characters, isn't in the movie.
In the movie Twilight, Bella, Edward, and James are the main characters. It also depends on if you want the book answer or the movie answer. The book is very diffrent.
Well The book has different characters because it has A Non Mechanical Shark
Books are better to read then watching the movie first because if you are reading the book you can imagine the place it's at and or you can visualize what the characters look like. On television you have what the characters look like and what the place looks like.it is all there for you when watching a movie, but when you are reading a book it exercises your brain and puts it to work.SO READ DON'T WATCH TELEVISION!!!!

who are the main characters in the book A year down yonder by Richard Peck

If the movie is anything like the book, yes, with many other new characters too.
Characters can be anything you want - even a toaster has been a character in a book and movie!
The 1993 Battle of Mogadishu , upon which both the book and film 'Blackhawk Down' was based , occurred October 3 and 4 , 1993.
The whole reason they made the movie was because of how amazing the book was. The book is like a whole other story. So many things happen that they don't put in the movie, and there are more characters that the movie leaves out. And the book is heaps funny. When i read the books i was not able to put it down. i would rather read the book over and over than watch the movie. The movie is boring in comparison. Definately go and get the book and read it. It's one of a kind.
The book is so much better than the movie, because it actually has more details and events and you can relate to the characters more.
Katniss Everdeen, Harry Potter
A movie is more like a play than a book because, unlike when you are reading a book, you can physically see the characters and hear what they are saying.
