There are six main characters in the book including the protagonist who is Mr Rahman Lejoka-brown, Mr Lejoka is a polygamist who is married to 3 wives, Mama Rashida who is his first wife he inherited her from his dead brother, then Sikira a free minded individual who Lejoka married out of convenience, then his last wife Liza an educated woman from Kenya who got educated in America as a medical doctor. Mr Lejoka has a house help called polycarp and a best friend called Gideon Abednego Okonkwo. Then a few characters scattered throughout the book including two local news journalists, a BBC corespondent, Madam Bambin Ajakwu also known as sikira's mother, Musa Osagie, Alhaji must alpha their neighbor and Mallam Gaskiya a member of mr lejokas political party!
