It was originally performed by Ray Eberle with the Glenn Miller Orchestra in the film Orchestra Wives. Since then it's been sung by male vocalists Levi Stubbs, Nick Hilscher, Michael Bolton, Lou Rawls, Elvis Costello, Michael Feinstein, and dozens of others.
