Burning Man is NOT A MUSIC FESTIVAL like Bonnaroo, Coachella, etc. No bands are booked to play there. There is no line-up. There is music, but the performers pay their own way. Most of the music is electronic and there are usually many famous DJs. Non-electronic music consists of coffee shop style performances (e.g. no-name singer/songwriters) and the occasional no-name band. There are some bands and performers that are heavily involved with Burning Man, and play there almost every year; Bassnectar, The Mutaytor, March 4th Marching Band are likely to be playing in any given year. Sometimes famous musicians who are attending will decide to play a set; Joni Mitchell and Grace Slick have performed there in the past.
I know that Alice in Chains, Rob Zombie, and Godsmack are.
