As of December 2019 five of the main eleven cast are living: Alan Alda (83), Loretta Swit (82), Gary Burghoff (76), Mike Farrell (80), and Jamie Farr (85).
The following have passed away: Wayne Rogers (2015, aged 82), McLean Stevenson (1996, aged 68), Larry Linville (2000, aged 60), Harry Morgan (2011, aged 96), William Christopher (2016, aged 84), David Ogden Stiers (2018, aged 75).
Despite the theme song being "Suicide is Painless" thankfully none of them died from suicide.
Sadly he pasted December 7, 2011. He was a very nice man.
yes most of them are still alive today
Yes, it is.
Most of the cast are still acting, although many have passed on and most of them are in there 80s and 90s, they still are remembered and recognized for their work in Mash.
All the main cast members except for Larry Linville (Frank Burns) and Maclean Stevenson (Lt-Col Henry Blake) are still alive. We can now add, sadly, Harry Morgan to this list of greats from the MASH series. Interesting side note here, if you consider Trapper John, M.D. to be part of MASH (it was considered a spin off) then Pernell Roberts can be added to the list at least of actors playing MASH characters. The only reference to MASH ever in the series, besides the name, was the opening in which Trapper (Roberts) is having a dream and calling out "Hawkeye, Rader..." Other than the opening, Trapper had no other apparent connections although I always wanted to see a visit by someone from MASH on the series.
