i had the same trouble, but just a couple minutes ago i found out how to get to the souvenir shop and ask matt...
1. Go to the stadium. In the stadium, go to oliver in the food court and talk to him. He is blocking the door to the shop. Talk to him about his gadgets or something like that and he will move...and that's when you go inside the door that you find matt.
