Not wood. Fiberglass for one and another was built up over a steel tube. It was of fiberglass and steel.

One of the cannon props (without its carriage and cason) was located at the Old Jail House in St. Augustine, Florida for decades. It was made of fiberglass.

Since then, I understand it was sold to a private collector for probably pennies on the dollar since the folks there at the time had no idea what they had in their possession for so many years.
