The Simpsons has not stopped production. The show has been renewed through 2025, with plans for seasons 35 and 36, and it is set to surpass the 800-episode mark. The series, which premiered in 1989, continues to be a long-running animated comedy that remains popular and has been renewed for multiple seasons ahead

Never. People thought it did when the creators "killed Kenny for good". But Kenny obviously came back, so it didn't. OK, well I guess it almost did when Chef (voiced by the late Isaac Hayes) left.

A lot of people think that it went downhill when Craig McCracken left to focus on Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. But really, it was much earlier, when the Powerpuff Girls beat up Rainbow the Clown. The fact that Rainbow the Clown appeared in a later episode does not make things any better, because the girls never forgave him or apologized to him for their behavior.

A number of times, like when they were showing too much Hanna-Barbera and Scooby-Doo shows, and they made a habit starting in the 90s of producing original programming year after year. But it really went downhill in 2004, when the executives stripped the network of almost all of its classic programming and moved it to the network's sister channel, Boomerang. Now, Cartoon Network is like a clone of the new Nickelodeon and Disney Channel, with Cartoons of crappy quality. I always avoid it. --Marcus J. Daitch

Hard to say if it did or it didn't. But if it did, it was likely right after the SpongeBob SquarePants Movie was released. That's when it started to decline in quality.

It's very hard to say, but according to the new official site, Bonethefish.com, the top reason is the death of Maude Flanders.

I'd say when the Adult Party Cartoon came along. I hear the original show (The Ren & Stimpy Show) is still popular with classic Nickelodeon fans.
