The Platters recorded it in 1958 and was included in one of their albums but hardly got any air play at all. They rereleased it as part of their Greatest Hits album in 1969.

As lists appear of the dozens of vocalists and bands that have covered this song, the Platters have never been given much credit for their version.

The Righteous Brothers version was made in 1965.
