Ruth Wakefield (1903-1977), inventor of the Chocolate Chip Cookie, obtained her formal education at Framing-hHam State Normal School Department of Household Arts (Massachusetts) in 1924.

Little history exists, if at all, about her birthplace, but it is possible that we may assume that she was also born in that state. She and her husband operated a business there, too.
