I'm pretty sure it was something like "Book, Look, and Listen".
There were 3 characters that lived in the woods, A Projector (Hector Projector), A mouse with Headphones / sound equipment, and a kinda dumpy looking bear with a long jacket with pockets full of books. I cant remember the mouse and bear's names.
I cant find any info on it anywhere. I used to watch it in the late 70's on PBS in Florida.
I think it was made by ITV. I seem to remember the logo thing for most shows being a fairy making sparkles with a wand and primitive 70's 'magic' sound.
It was produced by Maryland ITV. Hector Projector was voiced by David Landsberg, a nebbishy actor who appeared on CPO Sharkey and countless other '70s sitcoms. Ethel Earphone was played by Ethel Ennis, a legendary Baltimore jazz singer, and J. Worthington Book was portrayed by Doug Roberts, who has appeared in many of John Waters' recent films. Here is the last episode in the series:

There was a cartoon book called Hector PROTECTOR he was a law-enforcement officer of some sort- maybe Coast Guard or Shore Patrol as they had a Battleship in the background.
The actress Judy Reyes was featured on several famous shows, rather then one. Other then the television show "Scrubs", she was also featured on the show "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit", and in the Television series "Oz".

I have not seen the viewer breakdown but in my opinion Friends is definitely a "girly" show.
