Never do peanut butter before you sing. Its really bad for your throat. If your going to have honey as well you need to melt it in a tea or something because sticky things really screw up your voice. there is a reflex that your throat does that can make your vocal cords work to hard, which can damage your veals. one important fact :before performance , never ever eat solid foods, especially when sing or playing a large instrument. peanut butter is very thick , try a small beverage like maybe juice or water and a cracker . Don't eat or drink dairy products. dairy products coat your throat, which is NOT good before a performance.

There's no fun in playing it safe. Why not try something a little unhinged?

do not eat Lemon and other citrus it does not help your vocal chords if they are sore. You absolutely should not eat any dairy, it coats the vocal chords and gives you a "phlegm-y" sound.

Don't eat chocolate before singing as it kind of becomes thick in your throat. But you should drink water as it is soothing and clears the throat.
