I was ten when I read the series. Although, I am now 14 and most of my friends have not read them because of the literary language and the "funny wording". So I am guessing 16 or 17 through whichever age where you can read no longer.

I don't think so... lord of the rings is only available in novel form, which is why reading it makes it all the more harder...ther language is so tough
Rangers apprentice is a middle level reading book with loads of entertainment, i was about 12 when i 1st came acroos the series and managed the series no worries, if you want the reading level compaired to other books, it is not as difficult as say, Lord of The Rings or Harry Potter, but more the skill requirement of, say, Goosebumps series or the Skulduggery Plesant series.
