To quote from the book...
Ralph muttered the reply as if in shame. "Perhaps he went back to the, the---" Beneath them, on the unfriendly side of the mountain, the drum roll continued. This passage refers to the realisation that the littlun with the mulberry coloured birthmark on his face is missing, presumably killed by the out of control fire buring on the unfriendly side of the mountain.
A conch shell when blown produces a very loud booming blast, a little like blowing one note very loudly on a trumpet.
It really depends on which circumstance you're looking for... The first time the conch is blown when they first get on the island is page 18 "Ralph grasped the idea and hit the shell with air from his diaphragm. Immediately the thing sounded. A deep , harsh note boomed under the palms, spread through the intricacies of the forest and echoed back from the pink granite of the mountains."
Note: The Lord of the Rings is a single book. It is not a trilogy and not a series. It was merely published in three parts/volumes, which are named: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King.
I guess the platform can symbolize a place of order and civilization. Assemblies were always held there, under the green and sweeping fronds, to discuss problems and strategies on how to survive on the island
To quote directly from the book, Jack said... "Now listen. We might go later to castle rock. But now I'm going to get more of the biguns away from the conch and all that. We'll kill a pig and give a feast."

Book 5. chapter? All of it
Light Yagami dies in Chapter 107 of the Death Note manga.
The ocean isn't mentioned in chapter 6: Beast from Air but it is mentioned in chapter 7: Shadows and Tall Trees. However there is no mention of the Pacific ocean anywhere in the novel Lord of the Flies. The author refers only to 'the ocean' but does not specify which ocean it is. As the boys were being evacuated from England they were probably on their way to a Commonwealth country. The island was tropical so the likely possibilites are that it was either in the Indian Ocean (if the plane had been on route to Australia, New Zealand or India) or in the Atlantic/Caribbean area if the plane had been on route to Jamaica or some other British colony in that area. NOTE: This answer is not completely correct. "The great Pacific tide was coming in and every few seconds the relatively still water of the lagoon heaved forwards an inch" is taken directly from Chapter 1. Thus, any reference to the ocean is the Pacific.
