American actor Jon Voight first came to prominence in the 1969 film, Midnight Cowboy, in which he played a would-be gigolo. In 1972, he starred with Burt Reynolds in the critically acclaimed movie Deliverance. Voight was awarded Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival for his portrayal of a paraplegic Vietnam veteran in the 1978 movie Coming Home. He won a Golden Globe award for Best Actor for his role as an escaped con man in the 1985 film Runaway Train. In 2001, Voight portrayed President Franklin D. Roosevelt in the 2001 war film, Pearl Harbor.
