Ringo Starr's real name is Richard Starkey, but he never legally changed it.

Paul McCartney's full name is James Paul McCartney; his family called him Paul, to avoid confusion with his father Jim. (This practice is common among families with namesake children.)

John Lennon decided to change his middle name from Winston to Ono, since wife Yoko Ono became Yoko Ono Lennon when they were married. He found out he couldn't drop "Winston" under British law, but he could legally add the name "Ono", so he became John Winston Ono Lennon. He never used "Winston" again, unless he had to for legal reasons. "I am John Ono Lennon", he explained.

The band that would become The Beatles was originally the Quarrymen; named after John Lennon's school. They went through several names before, it's believed, that Stuart Sutcliffe - the band's then bass player - came up with the Beetles; as a homage to the Crickets - all the Beatles were fans of Buddy Holly. John Lennon changed the spelling to Beatles as a reference to the beat music they played.

It was John Lennon's decision. He was interested how words could seem totally different with just a spelling change.

What year did the Beatles broke up as band in?

A slightly complicated answer; effectively Lennon broke the band up in 1969, they decided to do one more "good" album - which was Abbey Road, all four Beatles were in the studio together for the last time in August 1969, although more Beatle recording and overdubs took place into early 1970. In 1970 Paul announced the break up publicly. Legally, the band separated in 1972. During the anthology project, the (then) three surviving Beatles worked on some Lennon demo tracks and released them as The Beatles - all three also acknowledged that they would be Beatles forever.
